Meet the guidance counsellors who will minister the workshops in 2013:

 

Apart from several authors and renowned professionals in Brazilian theatre that are invited for activities in the Dramatic Arts Centre throughout the year, there is a team of dramatists who are responsible for guiding new authors in the cities which participate in the project. Roberto Alvim

 

Project Content Supervisor and Guidance Counsellor of the Advanced Dramaturgy and Staging Class in Curitiba

Roberto Alvim is a dramatist, director and Performing Arts professor. He wrote and directed 20 plays to present date, staged in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Curitiba, Brasília, Salvador, Paris (France), Córdoba (Argentina) and Laussanne (Switzerland). He lectured in Dramaturgy and History of Theatre in institutions such as the University of Córdoba, ELT - Escola Livre de Teatro (SP), and CAL - Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras (RJ), SP School of Theatre, as well as ministering workshops in several States of Brazil, invited by the Ministry of Culture - FUNARTE. Since 2009 he has been a lecturer in the SESI Dramatic Arts Centre of Curitiba. He was the first Brazilian Artist to be published in the most important European dramaturgy collection, Les Solitaires Intempestifs, in 2005. In 2010, he was a Curator of the INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL in São José do Rio Preto. He was a Curator of the DRAMATURGIAS Exhibition, which took place in the BANCO DO BRASIL CULTURAL CENTRE (RJ) in 2009. He translated the works of several contemporary authors such as Harold Pinter, Gregory Motton and Richard Maxwell. He was the Artistic Director of the Carlos Gomes Theatre - Paraíso Room from 2001 to 2004, and Ziembinski Theatre (RJ) in 2005. He lectured in several Universities (such as UNI-RIO, UFPR and USP) and Theatre and Literature Festivals in Brazil and abroad. He has resided in São Paulo since 2006, where he directs the CLUB NOIR company, dedicated to the staging of contemporary dramatists. Apart from several nominations to the most important prizes in Brazil (including three nominations for the SHELL Prize), he was the winner of the BRAVO! Prime Prize in 2009 for the Best Theatre Show of São Paulo, for the staging of THE ROOM, by Harold Pinter.

Ruy Filho

 

Guidance Counsellor of the Advanced Dramaturgy Class in Curitiba

Bachelor in Visual Arts, he is the founder of the Antro Exposto Theatre Co., editor of the electronic magazine Antro Positivo, dedicated to theatre and cultural policies, idealizer of the collective of theatre critique "Diálogos" and coordinator of theatre and performance of the Rio Verde Cultural Centre (SP). Acts as an essayist on new configurations of contemporary theatre and cultural policies, as well as the teaching of dramaturgy, staging, direction, cultural management and ethics.

Antônio Rogério Toscano

 

Guidance Counsellor of the Beginner and Advanced Classes in Curitiba

Dramatist and researcher on theories of theatre. Professor in the Escola de Arte Dramática (EAD/USP), in the Escola Livre de Teatro in Santo André (ELT) and in the Artes do Corpo course in PUC/SP, the author of over 30 theatre texts, the most acclaimed being "Os Meninos e as Pedras" and "Bielski". He has constantly performed works in collaborative partnerships with several theatre groups, such as Levante Companhi, Barracão Teatro and Bendita Trupe. He is also a director of theatre and composer.

Cynthia Becker

Project Coordinator in the Interior of the State and Guidance Counsellor in Irati

Started acting in theatre in the CEFET-PR group, thereafter joining the Federal University of Paraná theatre group, and studying Performing Arts in the Paraná Arts College. During this period, she participated in projects promoted by the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba which aimed at promoting the integration between literature and theatre. After a period of residence in France and Scotland, she joined the SESI-SP Dramatic Arts Centre, a partnership with the British Council, coordinated by Marici Salomão, in which she took part of workshops such as the one ministered by the Paines Plough company from Britain, and dramatists such as Newton Moreno and Luis Alberto de Abreu. Member of the SESI-PR Dramatic Arts Centre, supervised by Roberto Alvim, she represented the same project in the Transamérique Festival in Montreal and ministered dramaturgy workshops in several cities in the interior of the state of Paraná.

Luiz Henrique Dias

 

Guidance Counsellor in Guarapuava

Luiz Henrique dias is 31 years old and lives in São Paulo. He is a dramatist, short story writer and director of the O Teatro do Excluído Experimental Theatre Company. He has been awarded prizes for best writing and acting in several festivals in the State of Paraná. In 2007 he founded his Company and, in 2010, he opened the Lupah Theatre in Foz do Iguaçu, the first pocket theatre in the interior of the state. He directed plays such as Guizos, also written by him, and Como se eu fosse o mundo, by Paulo Zwolinski, Carneiro para o jantar, by Guilherme Cardim and Precipício by Natacha Pastore. He has also taken part in the elaboration of public culture policies.

Angélica Kauffmann

 

Guidance Counsellor in União da Vitória

Born in Curitiba in 1987, Angélica R. Kauffman has been a short story writer and playwright since her adolescence. Graduated in Theatre Teaching at the Paraná Arts College, she works as an arts educator and workshop lecturer in public and private teaching networks and NGOs. She has also acted professionally in Curitiba theatre as a director, producer and dramatist since 2006. Angélica has been a member of the SESI-PR Dramatic Arts Centre since 2009, wherein she wrote the plays "O Celibato do Superman", published in 2010 and "Colônia" published in the SESI-PR Dramatic Arts Centre website. In 2011 she wrote "Happycyinio", which was published through 7 Letras publisher, and staged by Club Noir, in São Paulo, directed by Juliana Galdino in 2012.

Diego Fortes

 

Guidance Counsellor in Ponta Grossa.

An actor, writer, translator and director. Founded "A Armadilha - Cia. de Teatro" in 2001, company in which he staged Marias (2004), Café Andaluz (2005), Os Leões (2006), Bolacha Maria - a handful of snow which was left after the storm (2008), Jornal da Guerra Contra os Taedos (2009) and Orinoco (2011). In 2010, he wrote and directed - with the collaboration of artist from Minas Gerais Grace Passô - the play Os Invisíveis, for which he received the second nomination as Best Director in the Gralha Azul Prize. He also collaborates constantly with authors from other Latin American countries.

Alexandre França

 

Guidance Counsellor in Foz do Iguaçu.

Alexandre França was born in Curitiba in August of 1982. Writer, director of theatre and musician, he has recorded two CDs of original songs, A solidão não mata, dá a idéia (2006) and Música de Apartamento (2009) - the latter contemplated by the Production Prize - Pixinguinha Project, from FUNARTE -, as well as touring throughout Brazil with his music. He staged, with his theatre company, Dezoito Zero Um, five plays which he wrote, among which are Mínimo Contato (2011) and Habitué (2010). In 2010 he won the Gralha Azul Prize as new artist/director for Habitué (which was nominated in four categories: best script, best actor, best supporting actress and new artist). He published two poetry books, Mata-Borrão, Batom (2003) and De Doze em Doze Horas (2010), and has also poems published in literary magazines, such as Oroboro and Máquina do Mundo e-magazine. Currently a member of the SESI/PR Dramatic Arts Centre, under the supervision of the dramatist and director Roberto Alvim.

Marcelo Bourscheid

 

Guidance Counsellor in Pato Branco

Marcelo Bourscheid is a dramatist, actor, translator, director and theatre researcher. He has written the following plays: Sobre amores e cigarros (2008), Antes do Fim (published in the State Official Press: 2010), Depois (State Official Press: 2011), Para o vampiro - Variations no. 1 and 2 (co-authorship with Marcos Damaceno) and Entre dois continentes da morte, among others. His plays have been staged by companies in Paraná and other states, being awarded several prizes and touring in important festivals. Graduated in Literature and Master in Literary Studies at the Federal University of Paraná, he currently develops a doctorate research on dramaturgy in the same university. He has lectured the Regular Workshop of the SESI/PR Dramatic Arts Centre since 2010 in the cities of Londrina, Maringá and União da Vitória. He is a member of Inominável Theatre Company, dedicated to the research, writing and staging of contemporary dramaturgy.

Andrew Knoll

 

Guidance Counsellor in Maringá.

Andrew Knoll is 33 years old. Dramatist, Actor and Director, a member of the SESI/PR Dramatic Arts Centre since its foundation.He has been awarded several prizes for his work in Theatre and Cinema.

In the SESI - PR Dramatic Arts Centre he published FATIA DE GUERRA, which was performed in 2011 (among a few other Brazilian works) in the EUROPALIA Festival (Brussels). In 2012 FATIA DE GUERRA was staged by Club Noir, in its premises in São Paulo, during the BRAZILIAN CONTEMPORARY DRAMATURGY EXHIBITION.

Profound interest in INVENTION with the focus on the many facets of the HUMAN in its totality and its SURROUNDINGS in SHIFTINGS, as well as its aesthetic Bases of Formation.

Don Correa

 

Guidance Counsellor in Londrina.

Dramatist, Director and Actor. The dramatist and director Don Correa is graduated in Drama at the Tshwane University - Pretoria, South Africa (2007) and hold a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy at the Federal University of Paraná (2012).

Sworn translator at the High Court of South Africa (2001), he was the interpreter to the Minister of Education and Culture of Angola during Official Visit to the Deputy President and Minister of Education of South Africa (2007), and of the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Nelson Mandela Government, Frank Chikane, during his visit to Brazil (2011). He has translated several new dramaturgies to English. Director, actor, dramatist, lighting and sound designer since 2003.

A member of the SESI/PR Dramatic Arts Centre since 2011. Guidance counsellor in the Londrina SESI/PR Dramatic Arts Centre. In 2012 he founded FALA Theatre Company which focusses on national and international drama, especially those written in English.

He wrote and directed Parido (2012) and Zero (the only play performed in English during the Curitiba Theatre Festival of 2013, pointed by specialized critics as "a sensitive orchestration of light, sound, rhythms and sensations).

Diego Marchioro

 

Producer.

Diego Marchioro is a production director, actor, and is graduating in Cinema at the Paraná Arts College. He develops projects in theatre, dance, music and audiovisual areas. Idealizer of the Rumo Empreendimentos Culturais production company since 2006, through which the play A Vida Como Ela É - Nelson Rodrigues, directed by Edson Bueno (2009) may be highlighted. He produced and acted in the plays End and Uma Entre Mil Histórias de Amor (2011) and Amoradores de Rua (Myriam Muniz Prize - FUNARTE 2009), directed by Rafael Camargo. He was the production director of the Delírio Group Theatre Company (2007/2011), with the author and director Edson Bueno, performing the plays: Minha Vontade de Ser Bicho (2011); Metaformose Leminsi - reflexões de um herói que não quer virar pedra (Prêmio Myriam Muniz - FUNARTE; nominated for Best Play in the Gralha Azul Prize in 2010); Kafka - escrever é um sono mais profundo que a morte (Best Play - Gralha Azul Prize 2009); O Evangelho Segundo São Mateus (2008); Porcos Enriquecidos (2008); 25 years of Delírio Group Exhibition (2008); Macbeth (2007); Tangos Portas do Céu (2007); Projeto Poe: O Corvo (2006). In contemporary dance he produced desCompanhia, directed by Cintia Napoli (2006/2009). And the pieces De Maçãs e Cigarros directed by Gladis Tridapalli and Entre os dois Lados, solo, with the ballerina Renata Roel. In cinema his main productions are the short films Sofia e o Circo; A Dama e o Mendigo; A Água e o Tempo e o Beijo da Julieta (2008) by Beto Meira, Kleber Vlader and João Marcelo Gomes.
